Subwoofer is also compact with dimensions of 192 × 385 × 362 mm and weight of 7 kg, but is less inconsistent. The reason for this is the bright position performance above and the piano lacquer is seen in the lower area of ​​the bass box. The chic shiny plastic looks very classy, ​​but it magically attracts dust, puffing, animal hair and other dirt.

On the other hand, the LED display is good and subtle. It shows tasks such as input sources, volumes or selected sound mode. Touch -sensitive buttons at the top react firmly, but cannot be identified or felt in the dark.

In addition, there are two returns speakers (83 × 180 × 74.5 mm), which are associated with the distribution box (160 × 52 × 160 mm). It is easily connected to the power grid, the sound transmission works easily in a wireless manner.

Unfortunately, only a small optical cable is included-not an HDMI cable pack. In addition, there is a remote control including two AAA batteries and a pile of instructions in many languages.

The operation of the soundbar is simple and simple. Once connected to the TV and power grid, the system is ready for immediate use. Things such as on/off, volume and input signals can be controlled through the button on top of the subwofer.

Alternatively, there is still compact remote control, which we can use to affect surround volume or change sound mode. In addition to mode for TV, there are settings for music or night mode, in which it is easy to understand the sounds despite the low volume.

Playing music through smartphones and Bluetooth connections also works immediately. HT-S40R does not even offer too much option. Any individual synchronous settings, a multium function or spotify & co. The possibility is also not without additional players-it is not surprising at the price of less than 300 euros.

The soundbar itself has two front speakers and 3.0 systems with a center speaker. It has added sub -wise and two rear speakers. In all, the system provides a decent, powerful and warm sound – not compared to the flat sound of our TV. Apart from this, HT-S40R also provides a rich and now space-filled sound without a subwofer and back speaker.

The sound is overall balanced and individual sound sources come in themselves sufficiently. The HT-S40R cuts a decent shape not only in the evening, but also in the evening, but also when playing music. In addition to the surround effect, our television finally provides a rich bass that you can also feel! The horizontal sound is balanced, individual sound sources in the room come in themselves. Bluetooth, instruments, beats, bass and vocals in music mode, also a high amount of clean sound.

After the first enthusiasm, there is also a slight disillusionment. The spatial sound and sound color is good, but unfortunately not correct – and you cannot practically post -coatrol. The soundbar makes a decent, but not the work of the first class. Ultimately, there is a lack of discrimination, here the sound bars do better except sides. We must have liked more setting options for space sound-so, an app control would really be good for the system!
